Managing With Style

Using this video, you can encourage managers, supervisors and team leaders to think about the way they manage their people. By making them aware of the effect of their leadership style, you'll be helping them to motivate and develop their team. Some examples in the video show the benefits of consulting people and of referring tasks to them, whenever it is appropriate to do so. Other examples illustrate when a more directive style is more effective. Designed for today's mix of learning methods, this programme has been specially written for three types of user:

* the manager/supervisor/team leader studying alone, either at home or in a resource library (there is a two hour, self-study module, with suggestions for things to try out at work)

* the manager of supervisors/team leaders who is taking responsibility for coaching and developing their people (there is detailed guidance on how to run formal and informal coaching sessions, one-to-one and in a group) the professional trainer, running a workshop on management skills (this section of the guide contains ideas for running a participative workshop plus ready-made exercises and 'OK to copy' handouts)
